Is assembly required for kids' bikes?

Our kids' bikes require assembly and below we’ll explain the differing amounts required.

Most of the kids' bikes we sell will be shipped in their factory boxes and will require full assembly upon receipt of the bike. These bikes do not include instructions or tools. Therefore, we always recommend having a qualified professional bike mechanic perform the assembly. Kids' bikes requiring this level of assembly will present with only one shipping method at checkout: "Shipped to Your Door," followed by the disclaimer: "Ground Shipping (professional assembly required for unassembled bikes)."

For certain larger or more complex kids' bikes, we will need to ship using our "Wheelsmith Gold Label Assembly" method, which will be the only shipping option presented at checkout and will incur a $79 charge. This method aligns with the same pre-assembly process that we perform on all adult bikes we ship. The bike will arrive with minimal re-assembly needed. Further information on the re-assembly process for this method can be found here
